Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Dharapani

Today marks the beginning of your journey. You will travel by vehicle from Kathmandu to Dharapani via Besisahar in Lamjung. Along the way, you will pass through green hills, terraced fields, and small villages. You will also enjoy scenic views of the Trishuli River, which is famous for white-water rafting. Overnight stay will be in Dharapani.

Day 02: Trek from Dharapani to Chame

After breakfast, your trekking journey officially begins. You will walk along the Marsyangdi River, passing through forests and small settlements. The trail mostly follows a rough road, but in some sections, you can take shortcut trekking trails. By the end of the day, you will reach Chame.

Day 03: Chame to Pisang

Today’s trek is full of scenic beauty. After a short walk, you will cross the Marsyangdi River and continue along the trail. Along the way, you will see large apple farms where you can take a break and enjoy tea, coffee, or fresh bakery items. After lunch at Dhikur Pokhari, you will continue towards Upper Pisang. The stunning views of the Annapurna range will truly captivate you. In the evening, you may visit a local monastery and participate in prayers.

The landscape starts to change today as the greenery fades and the terrain becomes more dry and rugged. You will enjoy incredible mountain views throughout the journey. After lunch at Humde, you will continue along the trail to reach Manang, the largest village in the valley.

Day 05: Acclimatization Day at Manang

This is a very important day to help your body adjust to the altitude. You can take a short hike to nearby viewpoints or visit Gangapurna Lake. If you are physically fit, you can even hike to Ice Lake, which may take around 7–10 hours round trip.

Day 06: Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka

After spending time acclimatizing in Manang, you will gradually continue your journey uphill. The vegetation becomes sparse, and the landscape turns more alpine. Yak Kharka gets its name from the grazing grounds where yaks are commonly seen, especially during the monsoon season.

Continue your gradual ascent into the alpine landscapes of the Annapurna Circuit as forests fade into rugged mountain terrain on the way to Yak Kharka. Famous for its yak grazing pastures and stunning Himalayan scenery, this is a key acclimatization stop before crossing higher mountain passes.

Day 7: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi

Today’s trek is relatively short but very important. You will reach Thorong Phedi, the base camp before crossing the pass. After arriving, you can rest and take a short hike to stay active and prepare yourself physically for the challenging day ahead.

This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek. You will start early in the morning and slowly make your way up to Thorong La Pass. The views from the top are truly unforgettable. After crossing the pass, you will descend for about five hours to reach Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.
